View:189Motor protectorThe function of the motor protector is to provide comprehensive protection for the motor. It is a device that gives an alarm or protection when the motor has overtime start, overcurrent, undercurrent, phase failure, stall, short circuit, overvoltage, undervoltage, leakage (grounding), three-phase imbalance, overheating, bearing wear, stator and rotor eccentricity, external fault, automatic start due to power on, or inverse time limit. So what is the working principle of the motor protector? Let the motor protector manufacturer give you a detailed introduction!
Motors are damaged due to electrical reasons such as overload, phase loss, short circuit between layers and lines, ground leakage of coils, instantaneous overvoltage inflow, etc., or due to mechanical reasons such as stalling, when the motor rotating body encounters solids, heat conduction occurs due to bearing wear or lack of lubricating oil, and the motor is damaged. Due to abnormal operation or stoppage or damage, production losses or manpower losses during the stoppage time cannot be compared with the cost of replacing the motor itself. The loss is huge, so we need to effectively protect the motor to ensure the normal operation of production.
For faults caused by electrical reasons, whether it is overcurrent or overvoltage, it is mainly because the current increases instantly and exceeds the load current value of the motor, causing damage.Motor protectorBased on this principle, the motor is protected by monitoring the current value changes in the two-phase (three-phase) circuits of the motor. For overvoltage and low voltage, the motor is protected by detecting the voltage changes between the motor phases.

Basic principles and working process of motor protector:
The sensor reflects the current changes of the motor linearly to the sampling port of the protector. After rectification, filtering and other steps, it is converted into a DC voltage signal proportional to the motor current and sent to the corresponding part for comparison with the given protection parameters. It is then processed by the microcontroller circuit to drive the power circuit and make the relay operate.
When the motor current increases due to overload of the drive part, the voltage signal obtained from the current sensor will increase. When this voltage value is greater than the setting value of the protector, the overload circuit will work, and the RC delay circuit will drive the output relay to operate after a certain (adjustable) delay, so that the contactor cuts off the main circuit. The working principles of the undervoltage and phase loss protection functional parts are basically the same.
